I am wanting to learn Croatian in hopes of completing a certification course for TEFL. It's a program that allows people to teach English out of the country. I am definitely a beginner, but I tend to grasp things fairly quickly. I would need to be proficient in all areas of the language. As I've stated already, I am planning on taking a certification course which would require me to be so. I want to dedicate at least 2 days out of the week for learning Croatian, the rest I would spend on my own time studying. I would really enjoy it if my teacher would assign homework assignments along with the lessons and review. I would also like it if they possibly had their own materials handy to teach from; not necessary though. Or at least direct me on what/and how I should be learning the language. Thank you.

I would like to learn these languages, because when i am older, i would like to be a succesful translater and/or english teacher. I most importantly want to learn russian and croatian because Russian is fun to learn and my cousin knows russian, I want to learn croatian because i have a friend who lives in croatia. I know very little words in croatian, but some sentences in russian. I am familiar with russian greetings, how to write them, and the pronuciation of the russian letters. I think i need improvement on the russian accent, I just can't get it 100% right. I would like to spend as much time as I can learning the languages. Maybe even 2-3 hours a day every day! But I wouldn't want to upset the tutor. I am looking to be very fluent in Russian, and in croatian i would just like to be able to carry on an average conversation.

I would like to learn Croatian because my husband is Bosnian and most of his family does not speak English. I would like to be able to have conversations with friends and family when we go to Bosnia and Croatia for visits. I also would like to encourage our children to speak the language and feel it would help if I was able to speak as well. I feel that I am still a beginner. I understand some of what people are saying however I am not good at forming sentences to respond back. I have worked with a tutor previously on basic grammar. My goal is to be conversationa l. I think I would be able to dedicate 1 hour either once or twice a week to the formal lessons however I do have additional time that I can spend on homework, etc. I would like a teacher who incorporates every day situations into the lessons so that I can carry them over to conversations with my husband on a daily basis.
