I have been taking Scottish Gaelic online via Skype for 3 years now. I am supposed to be at the 'advanced' level but feel 'early beginner' is more appropriate. In other words I don't feel I've gotten anywhere and learning has become a drudgery. I really feel the need to become more conversationa l while at the same time getting more cultural immersion. I would be willing to spend 4 hours a week in instruction and then whatever 'homework' would be required.

I am looking for someone that is proficient in writing and speaking Gaelic. I am a begginner and must confess that I have basically no skills in this language. My family is all from Scotland and I would like to get in touch my my native roots, and if all goes well, I would like to teach my children. I am prepared to dedicate as much time as possible to learning and understand Gaelic. I do not have unreal expectations, I would just like someone who can teach me the fundamentals (grammer and pronunciation ). I would like a teacher who values hardwork and can motivate. I would love to learn Scottish or Irish Gaelic, still not sure which would be better for me, because they are both apart of my back ground. I have no experience in this language besides looking up odd words for fun. I think that I would need one on one help to fully grasp and understand the old language. Perhaps a female teacher would be best since I am female.
