I am looking to visit the Philippines later this year (perhaps the spring, and was wanting to learn some of the native language for when I go. I know a few words from a book purchased, but really, I'm a real beginner in this. Mostly looking for basic conversationa l understanding , to get by while there. Books are great, but they don't have 'mouths' for your ears to 'feel' the sound of the language with.
Depending on the length of the lessons and the cost, I am looking to do anywhere from 4 - 12 hours a week.
As I live in Ottawa, some form of verbal feedback on pronunciation would likely be best. Thus in person, or via Skype seem to be what I could do for now.

Hello,
lear ning English is important for me because of my professionnal 's areas.
And I used to live in a anglophone region most of the time.
Fren ch is my first language, but when i was a child I have grew up in a bilingual country. It is reason why my proficienfy level is intermediate.
Conversati on is the most important challenge for me. because I am not used to speak fluently, even I know a lot of word, It is difficult for for to think about it when i am speaking.
I have only two weeks avalaible from now, and I would like to dedicate 5 Hours by week.
I would like to deal with a patient teacher who is professional, seriouis and who propose to me an intensive program during those two week to really improve my english level (spoken mostly!)

I first studied Russian (2009, U of A RUSS-111) because I was going to travel to Russia. This trip ended up happening in 2011. I'm currently living and working in Moscow as an EFL teacher and I love it here. Unfortunately , as English is becoming more common, it's possible to get by in Moscow in English, though I still try to use as much Russian as I can. I have a tutor who is teaching me the Russian cases, but my vocabulary is terrible.
I love it in Russia and am very happy here. I would love to stay, but I don't want to stay as an EFL teacher. In order to stay otherwise, I need Russian language skills. My hope is to be able to study Russian during the summer when I'm home so that I can enroll in 200-level courses come September. At this point, my goal is absolutely to return to Russia.
I would say that I'm at an elementary level. I want to learn grammar, conversation, and I definitely want to increase my vocabulary. The possibility of adding online lessons while I'm in Moscow is appealing. Why don't I hire someone here? I already have a tutor and I waffle on whether or not I'm enjoying the lessons. Taking organised classes here is far outside my budget and my schedule is too chaotic to be able to fit them in. My tutor is available one day a week.
I need to be able to have exercises to complete either during or between lessons. I need to have something concrete to refer to because otherwise I have no frame of reference. For me to learn best, I need a mix of visual, auditory, oral, and written resources.
Depending on the cost involved, I'd be interested in one to three lessons per week. I realise, though, that this is complicated due to the time change.
