I'd like to improve my serbo-croatia n. I speak the basics as my parents are respectively from the former Yugoslavia. I have the mindset to speak fluently and I need to improve my vocabulary as well as grammar. I can dedicate perhaps 1 night or 2 nights per week. I am a beginning student of Serbian who was living in Belgrade for the past 8 months with a native Serbian speaker but with no formal training myself. I have just returned to the United States and am looking for beginning Serbian language lessons focusing on gramatical structure and explanation of sentence formation, etc. I am fairly proficient in reading both latin and cyrillic Serbian script, however my vocabulary is not sufficient for understanding what is written. In conversation, I am able to understand some everyday common phrases when listening to native speakers, however my own conversation skills are very limited and I have had almost no practice (especially since I am no longer hearing it daily). I would like to have some beginning lessons in order to better understand and communicate when I return to Belgrade in about 4 months. I would like to meet a few times a week for around 2 - 2 1/2 hrs. each time if possible and I would like the teacher to focus on everyday conversation skills and basic grammar in particular.
