I have little to no knowledge of the Spanish language. I plan on travelling to Central and Southe America for the winter. I would like tot ake a few night classes a week. I would prefer working with small groups or one on one. I am enthusiastic about picking up a new skill.

Hi,
I am full time student who found a job in Ottawa for the summer. I have been studying spanish at university since last september. I would thus say that I am at the intermediate level.
I was planning on going to Mexico for the summer to practice the language, but my trip had to be delayed because of the H1N1 flu. Meanwhile, I found a really good summer job here in Ottawa so I cancelled it all. Even though I'm missing on a amazing cultural experience, I want to continue to learn spanish so that, at least, I don't lose what I have learned so far.
As I have a full time job and that I go back to Montréal almost every week-end, I can not, unfortunatly dedicate too much time to language sessions. One meeting of an hour every week would be perfect for me.
What I would like in a teacher is that he-she would make me feel comfortable yet not be afraid to expect a lot from me. I am used to study spanish in an academic setting. You don't need to be too 'soft' on me! :)
