I want to learn French because I travel to France often. I am interested in reading the original texts in French literature and philosophy. I am beginner. I have to start from scratch and I expect to be able to converse at a basic level. I can give a hour and half each day to learning with a teacher, and an hour more to study by myself each day. I want a flexible schedule since I have to travel sometimes. Its difficult to talk about what one expects from a teacher unless you have studied under one (in this context)... basically I am looking at someone who will understand my shortcomings and my strengths and help me use them to be able to learn French, and speak, read and write it well.
