I am living in Manila and wish to have the ability to communicate in Tagalog. I currently do not have any proficiency in Tagalog. In particular, I wish to focus on conversationa l skills for use in day to day interactions with Filipino people. I would be prepared to have lessons twice a week. I am wanting to volunteer and be more useful in the area of which I live. In addition, I have family and friends here and am wanting to learn to communicate better. I have lived around the world I have found learning the language in the local area goes a long way in getting to know people better. My main area of concern would to be more help at church and helping and being more useful to the community I live.
In addition, knowing the language shows respect to those who are native here, something I very much believe in.
