I am interested in learning Dutch for personal reasons (I met a Belgian woman and learning her native tongue is integral to our relationship) . From January 2016 to July 2016 I was living in Belgium and didn't take advantage of my opportunities to learn while I was there. I have learned a bit online on the Duolingo website but know I am better suited to in person lessons. As a certified english teacher I understand the amount of effort required to properly learn another language.
I am now back in Canada and looking for a teacher (either 1 on 1 or in a group) to learn the language with on a regular basis. Although I have learned some of the basics I would still consider myself a beginner. Conversation is my main interest although I am willing to learn whatever the teacher feels is appropriate. I am a kinesthetic/t actile learner. I want a teacher that is patient but also stern when necessary.
Currently I am not very busy as I am going back to school in the fall (early September) but wish to continue to learn the language once it starts. From now until then I have the time to learn at an accelerated rate (5-8/wk) hrs, but will have to slow down once school starts (2-5/wk)

Spanish: My level of Spanish is somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I have fairly good comprehension , but would like to learn more grammar and verb tenses, as well as have the opportunity to practice speaking. I am ready to take lessons 1 or 2 nights per week, and of course, complete any homework on my own time. I am looking to take my lessons with a group of other students (large or small), as I feel I learn better in this environment.
Dutch: I am a complete beginner in Dutch! I can count to ten, and that is about all. But, I find the language fascinating, and am excited to learn more. Again, I am willing to dedicate 1 or 2 nights per week for lesseon, and looking for a group environment to learn in.

Hi, my name is Nynke. I would like to learn more Dutch because I spoke it as a child and don’t want to lose it before I have my own children; I’d like them to learn as well. I would like to learn to read and write in Dutch (which I can’t do at all at the moment) and I would also like to improve my vocabulary for speaking. Currently I am at a pretty basic level because I have no one to practice speaking with. For the reading and writing lessons I would not mind doing them by mail or email or something but for the speaking part I would rather be face to face. I would be willing to travel (but not too far).
