I wish to learn Arabic for both personal and professional reasons. I am currently a beginner with very limited grammar. I require broad studies, including formal written Arabic as well as spoken Arabic (preferably Gulf/UAE dialect). I will be in Vancouver studying at UBC for the next 3 or 4 years, and would ideally have lessons with a private tutor at least once a week (excepting holidays). I would devote at least 4-8 hours a week to studying Arabic, depending on other academic commitments.

I need to learn Arabic to pass proefficiency tests for college.
I think that it is a very useful language to learn.
I am a beginner at learning Arabic and I know very little Arabic at the moment but am very willing and eager to learn.
Coupl e hours a day of class is suitible but i can clear up my schedule to study more.
I want to be fluent/semi-f luent in middle eastern Arabic by next year april or june.

I'm a student, ESL instructor and journalist interested in developing my language skills for travel in the Middle East. I have a very basic knowledge of Arabic and Farsi, and am looking to improve both. I would also be interested in studying Turkish. I have not experience in the language. However, my husband is Arab, and I would like to learn and communicate with him in this rich culture. He is often overseas in business and we both speak English. I have always been interested in various languages and this would be a good start. I would dedicate more time when he is away, maybe 2 hours - 4 hours a week. and when he is in town - less time as I have to accommodate him.
I would like the teacher to communicate well in explaining the proper protocol in the language and culture.
