After having traveled to Brazil in May 2010 as a part of a study abroad program for my architectural degree I began to study Portuguese through various forms of media (software, audio, literature, etc). Since my trip in 2010, I returned to Brazil again in the summer of 2011 to visit friends and explore potential career opportunities . While I think that my understanding is passed a beginner level, I feel that I need a greater sense of structure and direction in order to further advance my knowledge.
I n general, I dedicate a minimum of 1-2 hours of self study per day, and am looking for a weekly evening course.

I am interested in learning/spea king portuguese. My family is portuguese. I feel learning the language will strengthing my heritage as well assist my career as a nurse. I would be a beginner level, looking for a patient tutor who would be willing to meet once or twice a week for an hour session. I look shift work therefore my schedule is flexable. I would be very appreciative if a tutor was willing to meet at a public area in Burlington, however if it can not arranged I am willing to meet in Oakville/Miss isauga area also. I would hope to start as soon as possible. I am interesting in knowing how tutors plan there sessions to ensure it will be most benefical for me. Thank you in advance.

I am SERIOUS about learning Portuguese, would like to get started as soon as possible and would be at a beginner level. Having a second language will definately be an asset for me in my particular carreer. I have travelled to Portugal 2 years in a row and plan on returning every year. My goal is to be able to read, write and speak Portuguese at a level enabling me to interact with people of Portuguese decent without difficulty. I hope to be able to dedicate 8 hours each month considering our schedules allow for this to happen. I only ask that my Teacher be patient and interested in helping me reach my goal at a reasonable pace. I am willing to meet in a City/Town other than the one I live in if it is more convenient.

Hello,
My nationality is Portuguese, I have been speaking Portuguese since I was young. I am at a beginner level in regards to grammar, writing, and reading. I would like to learn more about my language due to a career advancement. I better prefer to learn in person.
I currently work shift work, so due to my schedule I would be able to put about 6-8 hrs per week if that is possible. I am looking to start as soon as possible.
Th e qualities I am looking for in a teacher, is someone who will be self motivated, and allow me to set goals at the start, and allow me to see my accomplishmen ts at the end. I also would like someone who is fun, and outgoing, and has a great personality.
