I am a 19 year old female that wants to learn how to speak Russian because my boyfriend speaks it and I would like to learn how to speak it with him. I am a begginner and would like to learn everything that there is to know about speaking and writing the language. Also my boyfriend would like to improve on his Russian. I am learning Russian in order to better understand my wife's family. I would also one day like to visit her home town in Russia and visit her extended family in Russia. I want our children to speak English and Russian and I'll need to be able to understand them. I am definitely a beginner; I only know a couple of choice words.
I'd like to begin with conversation and then I can improve on the grammar. Eventually I would like to learn how to write in Russian but I'll worry about that once I can speak it well enough. I will dedicate as much time as
I can to the lessons as my work and personal life can afford to offer. I'm not sure what the schedules are like, but this is a language a MUST and want to learn.
Qualities I'm looking for in a teacher would certainly have to be patience, lots of patience. Like math I have a difficult time picking up on language. Other qualities would be flexibility in teaching styles and time. I learn best by doing.
