I am interested in learning the Arabic language becuase I would like to study the practice of Arabic Calligraphy. I am an artist (painter, potter, and sculptor) and would like to use the technique of Arabic Calligraphy in my work. My work is currently shown only in the United States. I believe it is important to expose americans to the traditions of other cultures in every way possible in order to promote cross-cultura l understanding and tolerance. If anyone knows of Arabic language and Calligraphy teachers, private, or at University, please contact me. I would like to devote at least six months to one year to study.
