Hello, My name is Joshua Schmidt and I'm a 16 year old male living in Cairns, Australia. I want to become fluent in Bahasa Indonesia because of personal and career goals. The personal reason why I want to become fluent is because I often go on long holidays to Indonesia, and find the country amazing - I would like to pay my respect to the people of Indonesia by learning their language.
The career reason why I'd like to learn Bahasa Indonesia is because I am joining the Australian Navy, and I am interested in a job that requires myself to start learning a second language.
I can keep up a conversation in Indonesian right now, and I do feel nearly fluent, however I would like to brush up my grammer and learn more business/mili tary type grammer & words. Maybe I could call myself an intermediate speaker.
I am not working at the moment nor am I at school, however I am going to Indonesia from October 31 - December 16 and plan to start with a teacher when I arrive back to Australia. I am willing to work with a teacher for maybe 5-10 hours per week, and mainly on weekdays however I am flexible with time.
I am looking for an Native Indonesian speaking teacher, or an Native English speaking teacher who can teacher me preferably face to face. However since I live in a small city, I may think of being teached using video call due to there being less teachers in Cairns.
