I am Gujarati-Amer ican born and raised in the United States. I have a basic grasp of Gujarati but I would like to learn Hindi to easily move around north. India. Also, I will be establishing a career in the healing arts: subtle healing, Ayurveda, physical yoga, and other therapies. I will need Hindi (and possibly some Sanskrit) to understand some of the deeper teachings of these traditions.
I will only be in Gujarat from today, Jan 29 to Feb 6. I would like a quick crash course if possible. I will then move on to Goa, possibly Pune, and then spend some months in Haridwar.

My husband and I are planning to move to Ahmedabad, India, in mid-April. We are from the United States and we speak English. We plan to start a business in Ahmedabad within a couple of years, and we want to be proficient in Hindi first. We desire to spend the first year or two years focusing on learning Hindi. We currently do not know Hindi at all, so we would be starting at the very beginning stages. We want to learn grammar, conversation, and all other aspects of the language. We are willing to dedicate two to four hours each day to formal language lessons, and we would practice outside of our lessons. We would like a teacher who has Hindi teaching experience, and who has good grammar and pronounciatio n. Also, we are looking for someone who can speak English, and will be patient with us as we are learning a new language. We would like our lessons to be interactive, and a combination of formal teaching and ways to practice on our own.
