I am a British born Hong Kong girl who is currently studying in Seoul, Korea. Actually, I am really interested in learning languages as I currently speak 7 languages and will be learning Japanese as well next year. The reason why I want to learn Vietnamese is because my fiance is Vietnamese and I would like to take the opportunity to learn his language to be able to communicate with him and his family. As I am in Korea, I will be planning a trip to Vietnam around March so I would first like to learn some basics through online learning then reinforce these during my visit through daily intensive language lessons. I am a beginner so I would be starting from scratch. I hope that internet learning would give me flexibility for learning vietnamese as I am at University and sometimes can be quite busy with assignments but during term time, I would look for around two lessons a week. During the holidays, maybe 4-5 a week! I am looking for a teacher who is willing to teach me not only 'travel' vietnamese but also the grammar, pronounciatio n etc. I would like to understand how the language works as well as just being able to say a few learnt phrases.

I am a beginner learner. I've just decided to start learning because I will be moving to Ho Chi Minh City this year. I am going to go buy a textbook this week (hopefully with a listening cd), but as a teacher myself, I know there is nothing better than actually speaking it to someone. A few times a week schedule permitting and location permitting is what I am hoping for.

I would like to learn Vietnamese. I am a beginner and currently know very little about the language. I would like someone to teach me the language through conversation if possible.
