Proficiency level is beginner. I now basic greetings and numbers. My desire to learn Manadarin is to be able to communicate more effectively with my fiance' who is currently living in China and taking English lessons. I need improvement in all areas as I have primarily studied by using audio language courses. I willing to dedicate as much time to learning as I can. I currently listen to tapes and CD's going to an from work every day. Qualities desired fora an instructor are native speaker with scheduling flexibilty.

My profency level, i would say is asvanced. I am learning chinese for personal educational advancement. I feel that I need improvement in the areas of government, economics, history and environmental issues. I am willing to invest as much time as needed in furthuring my proficiency. I just returned from one month trip to China investigating a business venture in Shanghai. I hope to start up the business in the next 6 months and want to become more fluent in Mandarin now. I have tried to learn Mandarin on at least three occaions but perhaps its because I was lazy or lacked motivation to learn that I dropped the classes.
I have been listening to various Mandarin tapes and used both Berlitz and Barron's phrase books on my China trip. My feeling is that I am not learning good phrasing or pronunciation on my own and want a teacher.
I live south of the Atlanta airport.
