My fiancee is Chinese, and I will will travel there freguently. I want to try and develop some basic Mandarin language skills. I speak no second language currently. I want a teacher that can quickly get me started with basic skills. I do find that learning written characters is much easier than I expected and enjoy learning that also.

Hello,
I'm looking to begin study in Mandarin Chinese. This is a personal interest of mine and I have no prior education on the subject. I'm interested in reading & writing, including the character system. I can meet for an hour or two once a week or biweekly what ever is convenient. I'm looking for a teacher who is good with beginners and can develop a solid lesson plan to fit my learning speed & style. I'm college educated and used to learning in that format but I don't mind stepping outside of the traditional learning model to try something new. Thank you for your time.

I am visiting China in July 2013, and would love to learn conversationa l Chinese. I speak a little Spanish and Russian and generally do well in language studies.
