I want to learn Arabic and I am beginner. I have lived in the Middle East while I was growing up but never learnt the language properly. I can hello and a few pleasantries, however I consider myself a beginner.
I would like to learn Arabic because I want to join the Foreign Office and I think it would be good for my career. I love the language and want to be able to speak it.
I would want to advice of my tutor as to how many hours a week I would need to learn. I work full time so many a couple of hours a week.
I would like it to be in person, with lots of speaking in the language. I would prefer a native speaker but that is not essential. I think it would be good to speak standard Arabic but that could be discussed.

I have little to no ability to speak Arabic. I am interested in taking lessons because my Fiance is an Arabic speaking Egyptian and it would mean a lot to me to be able to speak confortably with his family and friends. I think it would be most important for me to learn conversationa l Arabic. However, we do plan to move to Egypt at some point, so being able to read and write would probably come in handy. I would be willing to dedicate a few hours a day for at least two or three days a week to learning. I would be looking for qualities such as patience when I am struggling while at the same time insistence upon learning.
