I would like to learn Arabic because I will be studying abroad there for six months starting in January. I do not know any Arabic yet. I would like once a week private lessons with a teacher that will be able to give me a curriculum to fit my pace and the way that I learn.

I'm a beginner in the Arabic language, mostly with a background in knowing conversationa l phrases. I'm planning on entering a Near Eastern Civilizations and Languages program, and I need to have a strong sense of grammar to even be considered. I'm not looking for that much time with one-on-one with an instructor, I have a strong background in learning the fundamentals of different languages. I would need face time mostly to check my progress, so I was thinking only roughly four hours a week for twelve weeks.

I have been studying Arabic since June 2007 and recently had to drop from Arabic II at Pitt but would like to continue to study on my own time with a private tutor, as well as through the summer if I can afford to do so.
I would like to go to graduate school in Cairo and so would like to become more proficient at Arabic prior to doing so.
I have a really busy schedule and am looking for someone who would be understanding of that.
