I have no formal training in Tagalog. The bit that I know comes from self-learning by CDs and interacting with family and friends. I grew up in the East Coast of the U.S. and was not taught Tagalog to make an easier transition into the U.S. culture. I am looking for a thorough and well-discipli ned teacher with a strong interest in practical student learning.

I'm inquiring about Tagalog lessons so i can converse with family and friends when I visit the Philippines. For the most part, I'm at a beginner level but I do understand a bit of Tagalog. I'm mostly interested in learning the conversationa l aspect of the language. As far as how much time I'm willing to spend, it's up to my instructor to determine how much help I need and time to accomplish my goal. I'm looking for an instructor who is both fluent in English and Tagalog and has experience in teaching beginners.
