I recently spent over a year and a half in India visiting family. Although I was able to manage by communicating in English, my time there would have been more enjoyable and stress-free had I been able to read and converse in Hindi. More doors and opportunities would have been opened for me.

I am looking for a teacher who is patient and has a good understanding of Hindi. Although I would like to learn Hindi from the very basics, the Devanagri script, I am more concerned about becoming conversationa lly fluent in Hindi as quickly as possible.

I am a beginner with no knowlege of the Hindi language. I will traveling to Mumbai for six months and I would like to learn the language a bit before I go and gain a proficiency by the time I leave. I am looking for an emphasis on conversation but grammar and writing are integral as well.
