At this moment I'm between beginner and an intermediate proficiency level. I lived in Okinawa Japan for 4 1/2 years and I was 'almost' fluent. I've lived here in Texas for 8 years and I've become very rusty. I really desire to become and remain fluent not only in speaking but also in reading and writing Kanji.. My goal in life is to become an Japanese Interpreter, either for the U.S. Gov or for personal business. Studying japanese isn't a language you only study for an hour or two. When I study Japanese I'm totally committed and I'm willing to put in all the time it will require for me to reach this goal. The qualities I look for in my lessons are challenging and demanding, and that goes for the instructor as well. I've had several Japanese instructors and supervisors so I can handle any challenge given to me. I've received an A.A. in Japanese Studies, B.A. in Business Administratio n and in Business Management. I believe in working hard.

I have very little experience in Japanese. I am very eager to learn Japanese because of my vastly growing interest of the language and Japanese culture. I would like to learn all aspects of Japanese in writing, speaking, grammar and culture. I would be willing to dedicate as much time as necessary to my lessons, but I also have schoolwork, flute lessons and other extra activtiies I have obligations to. I am looking for a very patient, understanding teacher who is a native of Japan. I would like my teacher to not go to any other lesson until I understand the present concept or lesson completely. I would prefer private, live lessons so I can be in direct contact with my teacher.
