I want to learn Japanese to be able to learn and understand some of the culture and customs of Japan
I do not know anything about Japanese
I am hoping to Japanese language school, and they require me to know hiragana and katakana to start the school in May.
I would like to have the basics to get around in Japan as I learn the hiragana and katakana for the school.
I would like to dedicate the time in that short time spanned to have the hiragana and katakana knowledge, and be able to function to some degree in getting around.
I am leaving New Zealand on 17 April 2016. I am scheduled to be in Fukuoka on 7 of May.

I'm a high school student who is looking to learn Japanese. I have very little knowledge of anything outside of basic greetings, but I'm very interested, and determined to learn.
I start school again in September, so lessons would have to take place sometime after 3 in the afternoon.
