I guess I'm an intermediate beginner. I had a few semesters of Japanese back in college. I'm learning for fun; I'd just like to be able to read japanese reasonably well & speak well enough to use it when I visit Japan. I think I'd like to do about an hour a week private lesson, and I'm willing to spend 4+ hours a week working on it on my own. I live in Half Moon Bay, CA, and work in Santa Clara.

My son Chris is 15 years old and is going to Japan in July. He has studied Japanese in high school for 1 year, but needs to really practice his listening and conversation.
