I really would like to learn Portuguese as I have many friends and family who speak the language. Currently, I am able to comprehend many cognates to French but am very much at the beginner level and would need to start from scratch. I am able to allocate 2-4 hours per week toward learning the language in person with an experienced instructor. Most important to me is working with someone who has done this in the past and has supplies and tools to make learning fun. (flashcards, games, vocabulary lists). This person should be able to teach proper grammar as well.

I am interested in learning Portuguese. My husband's family is from Brasil and we will be moving there in the next three years, once our house is built. While I know I could learn Portuguese once I arrive there, I would love to be able speak with his family once I get off the plane. I am willing to travel up to 150 miles to obtain lessons from someone in person. I find I don't learn very well over the computer. I would like to meet once a week for lessons. being able to write Portuguese is not nearly as important to me as being able to speak it. But learning both would be great. I speak english as a first lanuage and I also speak German. So I understand the kind of commitment involved with learning another lanuage. I'm ready for the challenge and waiting to hear from someone.
