My language level in Portugese is Beginner, in French intermidate, and Catalan is beginner.
I want to learn Portuguese becuase I am sponsoring a child in Brazil and I want to comunicate with her, plus my job is asking me to learn too.

I am about to finish my Master of Romance Language in Spanish. As part of the program, I need to have speaking, grammar, and writing knowledge of a second language.
I desire to have Portuguese as my second language and the choices for local instruction is limited. I work full time, with a flexible schedule, and am raising one child. My goal is to learn enough of the second language to be able to pass written and oral examination(s ) given by my professors, which may include an ability to interpret some literature in Portugese.
The amount of language I desire to learn, is the Beginning college level courses in Portugese (Port 101 and 102) and at least one course above the beginning level.
I want a structured program wherein I would submit written and oral lessons on a regular basis that would include constructive feedback from the instructor. I would devote the equivalent time of one-two classes per week or about 5-7 hours per week.
The ideal tutor has the educational background to properly instruct the language to prepare me for the aforementione d goals; has a specific lists of books and materials and where to purchase them; and someone who is forthright and direct about the fees, but with a specfic plan to follow for the most efficient use of both our time and money.
