I am seeking professional language instruction. I have not yet received any formal training on the Russian language. I have some training in Polish and Spanish but want to learn Russian for travel and sharing in the Christian ministry. I am free to spend 4 to 6 hours per week on foreign language study and since I am self-employed my schedule is flexible. I am looking for a language instructor that is hard working and teaches with methods that are successful.

I have been studying Russian on my own for several months, and am in need of a tutor. Other than the alphabet and a few words and phrases, I know very little. I briefly studied Russian a few years ago, but have forgotten most of it.

I am a beginner with no previous foreign language experience. I intend to visit the Russia, Belarus or Ukraine later this year.
I am terrible at rote memorization, but I can assimilate rules and patterns, and can learn somewhat well when I can actually use a skill. So trying to learn isolated phrases or sentences from a textbook is not very productive for me.
