I'm learning Spanish because it's a goal of mine to become fluent. Living in San Diego and being a teacher I want to be able to communicate effectively with some of my students' parents.
I 'm between a B1 & B2. I've studies off and on for several years and believe once I start studying consistently I'll make good progress.
I would like to improve my conversation skills and advance my listening understanding .
Now that I'm on break I can dedicate at least an hour or more a day for the next 8 weeks. Once school starts I'll have at least 20-30 minutes a day to study.
The qualities I am looking for in a teacher someone who will encourage me
and teach me strategies to remember what I've learned.

I want to be able to speak conversationa lly in Spanish.
I took 3 years of Spanish in High School many years ago. And our teachers didn't teach well then.
I've recently started learning the language again.
I want to concentrate on speaking it, instead of linguistic rules.
I don't want to spend too much time learning it. Maybe just a weekend.
I'm looking for a teacher who can build quickly upon what I already know.
The teacher should be able to answer questions as well.
I've tried speaking to people who's speak both English and Spanish fluently but for some reason they have a hard time answering questions about Spanish.
I'm looking for a teacher with experience in answering questions and can get me up to speed talking to people.
I know that vocabulary takes a long time to learn, but I'm looking for basic communication skill development.. .not proficiency.

Soy muy aficionado de la cultura mexicana...po r ejemplo toco los clasicos de Jose Alfredo Jimenez en el piano, me interesa la historia de México, y soy hincha de futbol mexicano.
Lo que quiero es muy sencillo, y será trabajo muy facil. Solamente quiero hablar con alguien por telefono mas o menos una hora cada semana, para mejorar mi habilidad de entender, reconocer modismos, conjugar verbos a toda velocidad, etc. A veces tengo preguntas especificas acerca de gramaticas.

I am currently a rising undergraduate sophomore. I have taken 4 years of Spanish during my middle school and high school years, but have stopped for three years. Consequently, I have forgotten much of what I have learned. This summer(2009)I am trying to prepare for a placement test next fall and would like to improve my grammar and reading comprehension skills. Listening and speaking is important as well, but the placement test is solely a written test so emphasis on grammar would be extremely helpful.
