I would love to learn Urdu for my own interest. I am a total beginner. I would like to at least able to listen or speak Urdu and eventually read as well. I can take one to two lesson per week. I request for a female teacher that is also fluent in Cantonese or English.

I love to learn Urdu, actually it is my desire from long time ago but unfortunately here in Kabul it is difficult to find a proper institute where you can learn Urdu. I have searched a lot to find a way for learning Urdu, fortunately I found your website and hopefully you can help me in learning Urdu. salam my name is Shazia and is wanting to learn the urdu language. I am of black carribean nationality and my husband of 7yrs is pakistani and speaks urdu, i need urdu lessons so we can communicate by speaking urdu rather then english all the time.
I would need to learn from the beginning as i only no how to count 1-10 and some basic words like hello, good bye, how are you and so on. I think i would progress more and be more sucessfull if i was to learn face to face and would like to study twice a week.
I would like my teacher to know how to speak urdu fluently and to have special qualities in knowing how to teach people and to have some previous experience in teaching.

Rec ently, I'm addicted to Hindi movies and would love to understand the conversation without subtitles. Personally, I love Persian script more and I also was told that spoken Hindi and Urdu are almost the same. That's why I want to learn both Hindi and Urdu.
