My approach is based on the student's level of proficiency, interests and aptitude to get involved an talking. I always start with the very basics. Phonetics of the POrtuguese language is my very first lesson. From there, I move on to greetings and other minor topics of conversartion s. I do an exposition of Grammar every other week. Vocabulary, reading and speaking are always key elements to every class. Even if I am explaining grammar, I try to encourage the student to participate by making up sentences or repeting after me. My approach is very simple but yet very effective.

My lessons are specifically designed to each individual student. I generally assess the student in our first meeting to determine the level of proficiency and go from there. I have lessons prepared for all levels of proficiency. I use current materials and internet resources such as videos and online news sites. I have prepared my own curriculum.
