I focus on developing your oral mastery of the language as it is spoken in everyday life. Each lesson is inspired by how you express yourself and what you want to communicate.
Above all, I take into account your personality, your needs and your expectations in order to be able to provide the most appropriate teaching method and to establish a personalized course program which will ensure the best results. My method will help to learn the language in a short period of time. Finally, after each lesson, I provide immediate feedback and you are also given homework (by e-mail) designed to help you review and master what we have spoken and studied on class. I have been working full time doing private classes since 2001 teaching both Spanish and Catalan to foreigners. I have also taught English and Spanish to international CEO’s from different companies for around 11 years now.
The communicative method I use (Skype) offers you the major benefit of allowing you to communicate with a reliable qualified teacher who is a native speaker of the language (this is also important). Other methods of learning a new language require listening to CD’s to remember the pronunciation . Although these are very traditional ways of learning the language it is often a time slower, and more time consuming. After all, these materials can’t teach you the right pronunciation and particular cadence of a particular language. And even the sites that let you hear a foreign language though your computer speakers often sound unnatural.
It is definitely better if you enroll to Skype lessons with me and start speaking the language immediately. Languages are meant to be spoken first, and then learn the writing mechanics, and reading too.
Learning with me will enhance your skills and help you learn a foreign language to do better in the job market. It never hurts to learn more than one language, and the more one knows the better one can find bilingual and multilingual jobs. It is the perfect way to dramatically improve your confidence and ability to really SPEAK the language. I am sure you will be amazed at your progress!

QUALIFICATIONS
I am an accredited ICF Neurolanguage Coach® (a registered US and European trademark in the name of Rachel Marie Paling.) and I use this methodology in my sessions. This approach combines Coaching with Neuroscience (brain-friend ly learning) and turns out to be more effective and more durable than other methods. The focus is on the learners' motivation, interests, needs and language-prof essional goals.
I studied languages (English and German) both at College and at University.
I graduated in Languages and Translation in 2001 (degree that enables me to teach too). I have worked as a teacher and interpreter both in firms and privately.
Apart from having a University Degree, I have also been specifically trained to teach Spanish to foreign students following the world renowned International House Methodology.

WHAT IS YOUR SCHEDULE? Monday to Friday
MAY I HAVE A TRIAL LESSON? Yes, of course. I will give you a Mentoring Call at no charge. Trial lessons are one hour and are very effective in understanding my learning approach. You will need your computer and headset etc. This is also a good way of testing out the communication s and allowing you to meet me. Please feel free to contact me for this trial class at no cost for you.
HOW MANY CLASSES DO YOU RECOMMEND PER WEEK? I recommend a minimum of 1 hour per week.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO LEARN? It is up to you..! If you are motivated and do your homework, you can be talking in 2-3 months, if you are not motivated it will take you longer.
WI LL I BE ASSIGNED HOMEWORK? If you are serious about the language, I recommend you do the homework I will send you to do at home after finishing our class. This is a very cost-effectiv e situation for you, as you are learning from my materials at no extra charge.
WH ERE WILL THE LESSONS TAKE PLACE? I use Skype to teach to my students that live all over the World. You will be able to see me via webcam and communicate with me via a headset. And to make it really easy for you, your first lesson is totally free. The only difference that my Skype lessons may have compared to a live in person class is that you and I won't be at the same place: you might be sitting on your couch at home while I will be working from my office in Barcelona. CAN YOU COMPARE MY LESSONS TO A LOCAL TUTOR? Local tutors can be good. However, apart from the difficulty of finding a tutor of excellent quality for your language, there are awkward aspects. Where do you meet – your house, their house, the local library, a coffee shop? Coffee shops are OK for informal practice, but the atmosphere is not good for Beginner Levels or more formal grammar instructions. Local teachers are often more expensive too. There are generally travel time and scheduling restrictions as well. You can’t beat the convenience of my Skype lessons.
C AN YOU COMPARE MY LESSONS TO A LOCAL SCHOOL OR LANGUAGE ACADEMY? Learning a language with me through Skype is also recommended versus a classroom or college setting because one can go in one’s own pace and not be slowed or pushed to move in a curriculum or schedule. It feels relaxing from not being rushed to learn something in a classroom. And, one does not need to fear the grade system because there will be no grade system (if not needed or desired) exempt the one in the book one studies from with me.
CAN YOUR COMPARE MY LESSONS TO A RESIDENTIAL “IMMERSION” COURSE IN BARCELONA? I will never criticize taking a month in Barcelona to learn either Spanish or Catalan! We should all be so lucky! Residential classes can be excellent but they take a big slice out of your vacation time. The "per hour" cost is also high, especially if you count the lodging and airfare - but the food can be really good. The academic risk is that you are again learning the language (for example) with a group of English speakers, of different levels. I think this is less effective that one-on-one instruction. Also when you get home, there is no follow up, and your skills can begin to fade. I think steady instruction over time is a better option than a single month of "immersion". Why not do the "immersion" at home, more effectively, and for less money? Then you can spend your vacation time having fun in Barcelona, not in a classroom.

WHAT IS YOUR PAYMENT POLICY AND PRICE PER HOUR?
Each lesson should be preferably paid by PayPal before taking the class. But remember, the first class is free of charge and this is important, so we already get to know each other before starting the lessons.
T he price per hour it mainly depends on the student level of the language, but a one-two-one lesson would be around 50 Euro per hour (pre-session material, session, consolidation activities, weekly follow-up, corrections and material included in the price and service).
