I am a native Russian speaker with years of experience in teaching languages (both Russian and English). Teaching languages is not only my passion, but also a constant subject of my curiosity. I am learning about my own language every day with my students, we help each other understand its history, origins and cultural peculiarities . My other passion is Fine Arts and it blends together with languages very well! I like incorporating creative techniques into my teaching methodology; it makes the lessons fun and information easy to understand and memorise.
I have flexible working hours, but prefer a responsible learner who is arranging lessons in advance. I charge a full price of the lesson for the cancellation that was made in shorter than 24 hours period of time. It is preferable to meet for a lesson every week, as it helps to make a steady progress. Our main goal will be achieving strong and long lasting results in a minimal period of time.
The structure of my lesson is well balanced. I include grammar and pronunciation techniques, also tips for a better and quicker memorisation. I gather information for lessons from different sources, which makes my class interactive, vibrant and effective.
I have been traveling to UK, US, China, Indonesia, Europe and New Zealand and have a good understanding of different cultures. It enables me to explain the Russian culture and emerge you into our traditions. It helps to learn the language when you are familiar with particulariti es of thinking process of a person from a different country.

Program Description

The structure of the course will depend on the student's needs. If you are planning to go to Russia as a tourist, we will focus on the basic vocabulary that you will need to get by. If you have a Russian-speak ing partner and would like to gain more subtle knowledge about communicative styles amongst Russian family members and their traditions, I will incorporate cultural awareness information in our sessions.
Either way, you should expect the learning program to be tailored to your individual needs and circumstances . I use a variety of resources and methods that I accumulated over years of teaching. Because of the visual arts background, my resources are colourful and easily digestible. I place great focus on communicative practice, and I will encourage you to engage in the community of Russian speakers so that you can get extra practice.

Teaching Experience

- International House Ellesmere UK (July - August 2019). Here I taught English as a Foreign Language and art. The age group of students was between 8 and 17 years old. This was an intense teaching experience, where I taught lessons almost every day and spent considerable time planning interactive lessons that will engage every child. Through continuous professional development, I learnt new teaching methods from my colleagues who brought their knowledge and experience from around the world. Apart from teaching, I also had extensive pastoral duties that included organisation and participation in sport activities and talent shows for students' self-developm ent and well-being.
- Chatswood Intensive English Centre, Sydney, Australia (October - December 2018). I taught ESL, art and ICT for students aged 12 - 18, who were newly arrived immigrants and international students. Most lessons that I taught were created from scratch and the main focus of all teaching resources was to develop students' oral fluency and increase their confidence in speaking English.
- Self-employed in Sydney, Australia (August 2013 - current). I taught Russian and English for adults and children. My youngest student was 6 years old and oldest 65+. I worked in an office setting, students' homes, my home office, as well as in an online-mode. I gave advise on Russian culture and work ethics.
- Wargaming Sydney (August 2012 - October 2017). I taught Russian to game developers who needed the language to communicate with their Russian-speak ing colleagues.

There are so many teachers out there, why should I choose you?
My main advantage is my dedication to the student's individual learning preferences. I pride myself for being able to tailor my lessons to the individuals needs of students. Another advantage is my qualification s and experience. I've taught in various contexts: high schools, primary schools, private colleges, as well as tutored face-to-face and online. I teach full time and dedicate my full attention to teaching.
How do I know that you are the right teacher for me?
There is only way to find out is to try a lesson with me. That's why I offer a 50% discount for the first lesson. I think, the key to success in learning a language in a one-on-one setting is to find a teacher who you feel you can trust and feel comfortable with. I always recommend to look for a tutor who you click with.
What time zone do you teach in?
I am currently based in London, so my working hours are 8am - 7pm (GMT+1)
Wh at are the payment options?
That will depend on your location. If you are based in the UK, then bank transfer or Revolut are both available options. If you are in Australia, then bank transfer is available. If you are located elsewhere, I currently accept PayPal payment.
