Teaching Approach

On the first day I will ask students what their interests, hobbies and music tastes are so that each lesson can have an element that is of special interest to each specific student either translating a song they like, working on a script from a movie or play scene or translating newspaper articles about issues the student is interested in.

Program Description

My program will vary depending on the needs of each student depending on whether or not they need further grammar help, vocabulary depth or pronunciation work. Each class will have worksheets which the students can take home and depending on how much time they wish to spend on developing their skills each student has the option of taking homework sheets, songs or short videos to keep up their skills throughout the week.

Teaching Experience

I have taught English in Madrid and Barcelona for 2 years as an English assistant and volunteered teaching asylum seekers in Glasgow in 2010. Last year I taught in a summer camp in Bilbao and for the past year I have been a freelance Spanish tutor in Glasgow.

Teacher Training

I have a Hispanic Studies degree from the University of Glasgow,a TEFL accreditation from i to i and an ESOL accreditation with the ESOL froum.

Frequently Asked Questions

I usually work at the University of the West of Scotland but as it is shut over summer I am available most weekdays and evenings I prefer not to work at the weekend. I prefer to be paid in cash at the end of each class. I am happy to work with students ages 10 and upwards with any level of ability.
