I foster a proficiency-b ased approach that focuses on communicating in real-life situations. The students are intensely exposed to the real-life Russian set in the cultural context. In my efforts to accommodate different learning styles (and to keep up the motivation), I use a variety of media in my lessons including written, audio, and video materials as well as interactive computer exercises.

The lessons are tailored to the individual needs of the student.
Ideally, I pay equal attention to developing all language skills - speaking, listening comprehension , reading, and writing. However, if for any reason the student wishes to focus on a specific skill, I'll concentrate on the desired area.

Over 10 years of experience in teaching all levels of Russian to American college students.
Over 20 years of experience in teaching Russian language, literature, and culture to heritage speakers (including my own four children, all born outside of Russia, all fluent Russian speakers/read ers -and the older ones- writers).
