I am a languages teacher in La Paz. I have taught Spanish for 20 years now and have taught English before that also. I have worked as a free lance, teaching only Spanish for such a long time. I created a private Spanish school a few years later I started teaching, and I got a great part of my students through my school's website, travellers' guidebooks and multiple recommendatio ns as well.
Conseq uently, I have a lot of experience teaching Spanish to foreigners. I developed my own particular teaching style by having pleasant conversations and discussions with my students during the lessons and transmitting them my knowledge of the language to thousands of them all of this time.
I think that my teaching method and style has been quite effective with most of the students who approached to me looking for Spanish instruction and I feel I have done a great job contributing with the growing population of Spanish speakers in the world, who speaks Spanish as a second language.
I consider that the existing linguistic differences between the language taught, in this case Spanish, and the language through which Spanish is taught, either English or French, is crucial during the language learning process.
Therefore, I consider myself a conscious linguist who normally tries to teach either English or Spanish through differences and similarities. That's to say that when someone is trying to learn Spanish, through English or French should respect the linguistic differences and celebrate the similarities as well, in order to have a more effective learning.
Among these differences are the pronunciation , intonation, phonetics, semantic, grammatical structures, etc. which are relevant in every language. So, I believe that if a teacher doesn't apply at least 70 or 80 percent of these in his/her lessons, will not contribute for a comprehensive learning.
Obviously, speaking, reading, writing and listening skills are important too but they will just come along with the linguistics.
I have an excellent command of English language and a vast knowledge of both Spanish and English grammar. I speak and understand French at an intermediate level.
I would just like other professionals or companies that would be interested in a linguist, language teacher, interpreter or translator, should consider my experience and background for similar jobs in La Paz or the rest of the country.

Program Description

I teach Standard Intensive Spanish lessons: 3-4 hrs per day, Monday to Friday and also Super Intensive Spanish lessons: 5-10 hrs per day and lessons could start any days of the week, including Saturday or Sunday.
The students have the option to stay with a bolivian family at the same time.
Grammar
Lessons and Homestay could be arranged either in advance or at least one day before. Schedules for the lessons are completely flexible
