A very passionate and excellent Farsi teacher!
I was born in the United States and did not really learn Farsi growing up. Recently, it has been my desire to learn my mother tongue and to be able to speak to my mom and family in Farsi. Soheil has been helping me do this. He is an outstanding teacher. We work on all aspects of Farsi (grammar, reading, writing, listening, and conversation) during our lessons. His lessons are well planned out and organized. He gives excellent lecture notes for each lesson that are useful for self study. I have had such positive experience learning from him! He truly is a master at teaching the Persian language! He makes difficult concepts simple and easy to understand. During his teaching sessions, he provides numerous examples to illustrate points that were taught. He customizes each class to meet his student's needs.
Soheil is very enthusiastic about teaching and I feel very lucky to have him as my Farsi teacher.

Excellence
As a resident of north Georgia, my prospect of finding a satisfactory Persian was slim from the start. I was looking for someone who is passionate, flexible, proficient (with regard to both English and Persian), affordable, logistically-feasible, and congenial. I can now say, after 5 months of working with Soheil, that my expectations have been exceeded in every way possible. Each time we meet, we review different components of Persian (speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension). At the end of the class, I walk away with valuable notes and homework to help me prepare for our next meeting.
I must expound upon what I see to be one of his most unique and exciting characteristics: his passion for Persian language and culture. One brief instance highlights this best. We were reviewing introductions and the beginnings of a Persian conversation. I was having trouble grasping this concept - known among Iranians as ta'arof - so Soheil called one of his friends. Instead of jumping right into the conversation, Soheil's friend first greeted him, asked him how he was, and proceeded to ask an entire litany of other polite questions that are required under ta'arof. This illustration helped me to grasp this idea in an incredibly effective and hands-on way.
If you are looking to become proficient in Persian, and are looking to enjoy the learning experience, I highly recommend that you consider Soheil Shayegh for instruction.
