Highly recommended - an excellent teacher I was raised in a Malayali family but could not speak or read Malayalam. Devika was patient to start with the basics but quickly drew links to the few things that I already knew, so my learning was accelerated much more than the lessons. She is a highly committed and patient teacher, with clear lesson plans, and she always catered to my specific problems. Very happy with Devika's teachings Devika is teaching my 6 years old daughter, who is a beginner. My daughter is very happy with the classes and so do I. Devika is patient, and encourages my daughter to practice. The lessons are clear, structured. The classes are recorded, so that we can listen to them again if needed. Devika is writting all the points we learn during the session, and she also provides some powerpoints. She answers to our questions in between the classes. We are very happy with the classes. Learn Malayalam as a Foreign language in a professional way I am a foreigner and moved to Kerala along with my husband 6 years ago. As I studied PG in translation and interpreting, picking up another language did not seem to be a big worry for me - until I encountered Malayalam. During the first 5 years I have struggled to learn the language. I tried to learn by listening, but as the language is completely different from what I have learned until now and even the gestures, I was able to pick up some basics in such a long time. This year I have decided to seek professional help as I do not want to feel or be treated as a foreigner anymore and become self-sufficient. At the beginning I was hopeless trying to learn in a systematic way and everyone had discouraged me. Though I found this website and made an add for a Malayalam teacher. Luckily, I was contacted by Devikaji and offered classes. I decided to give it a try immediately. Devika surprised me with her dedication, patience and class preparation. After so many years of struggle, I have got the feeling finally to find my way with this language and improve. Highly recommend Devika- an enthusiastic and excellent teacher. Devika's approach to teaching couldn't be bettered. The lessons are well thought out and constructed. A lot of thought has obviously gone into the course structure with each lesson leading into the next. Devika's personal qualities are also good. Devika is patient- kind and thoughtful and listens well- not many teachers can listen. She can work round problems and does her best to deal with any particular issues you have with the language. While I am glad to have learned a lot of Malayalam I'm sorry that the lessons have ended- they were enjoyable- never a chore- I will miss them. Add a follow-up message (Devika KP or Alan P only) |

Very useful lessons provided by a dedicated teacher I have been learning Malayalam with this teacher for almost 15 months now and have made good progress in that time. I have been provided with several PowerPoint presentations which start from basics and move on to a more advanced level. Then I was provided with audio lessons which have helped me improve my understanding of Malayalam. Any doubts I had were cleared as I could communicate them to this teacher through email. I would recommend this teacher to both beginner and intermediate level students who are willing to learn with this self-study method. You would learn many new words and phrases as well as improve your grammar and understanding of Malayalam after listening again and again. Great lessons and friendly, caring teacher I enjoyed the lessons and found Devika to be a very responsive and caring teacher. The lessons plans were well prepared, she has put a lot of thought into them, and I loved the presentations with embedded audio. Very thorough and patient teacher Ms devika is I can put in words, one of the best online teachers one can ask for. Having said that, she replies all her emails very promptly and has been very patient with her student(namely me) about the lessons even though I check my email not very frequently due to my time and hectic schedule. She is thorough in get teaching and delivers what she states under her profile, a dedicated learning experience one will definitely enjoy. I have learnt a lot of Malayalam and am very interested to learn more. She understands what needs to be learnt for anyone who starts to learn From scratch. Best teacher to teach you the language For me, Devika is a person god sent. She is very commited to teaching me the language and follows up very meticulously. She is only interested in teaching me the language rather than other vested interests which is a very positive and excellent feature especially as the classes are online. She prepares each lesson with patience and is very dedicated with each class preparation.
