A Wonderful Teacher She was an excellent teacher, and was very enjoyable to work with. She is fun to talk to in both English and Russian, and goes above and beyond to keep lessons interesting while not neglecting grammar and the technical aspects of Russian (and there are a lot!). I can't say enough how happy I am that I found her on this site, otherwise I might not have continued to study Russian. If you are around Denver, you should study Russian with her. Very Professional Iryna was my first Russian Teacher and she did a wonderful job. Logistics kept me from continuing with her but I called on her to help interpret for my family's Green Card interview. Iryna showed up on time and did a fabulous job of interpreting. Customized lessons, superior results I have had a number of Russian and Ukrainian language tutors in the past and working with Iryna Petuchak has been far and beyond the best. She explains clearly when I have questions about grammar or culture, she thinks creatively about how to keep me engaged and learning in new ways. She is a delight to work with and makes an effort to connect personally as well as professionally. Great experience! If you are in the Denver/Littleton area I would highly recommend going to Iryna for instruction! She helped me learn alot of basic russian over the summer. She is very engaging, flexible to your schedule/learning style and has tons of experience teaching people russian! Highly recommend taking classes with her! Highly effective teacher Iryna has been a highly effective teacher for me. Her ability to analyze my particular learning style has ensured my success. She conducted an assessment of my level over two lessons and was prepared for a proposed course of study. She designs each lesson based on the needs demonstrated from prior lessons. I find Iryna to be an oustanding teacher! I am pleased to recommend Iryna as an outstnding teacher of the Russian Language! I, myself am a science teacher and beieve that I am in a very well qualified to make a valid judgemnet. After the intial lesson and introduction, she would begin each class with a review of previous the previous lesson. Next she would give a quick overview of the lesson we were going to work with on that day. Finally,even if we were over the time limit, she would sumerize that lesson. She kept the lesson moving and interesting. My schedule was different, but she was flexible with her time so I would not miss any time.I would definitely recommend Iryna and I will definitley continue my studies with her.

Iryna's lessons include cultural topics and are very enjoyable and rewarding. My daughter invited me to join her for our first Russian language course at the local college in Feb 2007. That’s when I first met Iryna, the teacher for our first Russian language class. We liked her very much from the beginning. It was her demeanor, her way with the students, her easiness in her teaching, her mastery of the Russian language, and her sprinkling of cultural topics throughout the class that impressed us so much! Iryna is Russian by birth and has lived in Russia and in Kiev in the Ukraine for most of her life. So she’s fluent in Russian as well as Ukrainian. I continued my Russian lessons with Iryna after the college class ended. She is very flexible with her lesson schedule and always tries to accommodate the needs of her students. She is very, very good at that! Her lessons are geared to the ability of the student and are sprinkled with cultural topics throughout. You might read and analyze a poem by a great Russian poet. She might review a Russian newspaper article of current interest with you. You might listen to a fine Russian singer singing in Russian. Listening to the lively and lovely Russian folk music is always a favorite for me. These cultural topics all add to the enjoyment of the lessons. She always gives you homework assignments. That’s fine with me. You can’t get away from that! And tea and cookies always add to the pleasure of your Russian lessons. Iryna is a fine teacher of the Russian and Ukrainian languages. 5 Excellent Iryna, worked with me in my office 2 hours per day for 8 weeks helping prepare me for a trip to Kazakhstan. She personalized my lessons for my individual needs. I learned a lot in the time we spent both reading and writing in Russian. Very good teacher. I will continue my lessons with her again when I return to the US after this trip. Highly Recomended! Excellent teacher Iryna is a native of both Russian and the Ukraine. She is a native speaker of both languages. She is a serious and professional teacher but allows for the many differences in her students ages and abilities. Always encouraging and motivating she does find time to make lessons interesting with anecdotes from her life in Russia and the Ukraine, thus giving lessons in the intrinsic character of the Russian. For beginners she stresses pronunciation, grammar, and the use of cases in the Russian language. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about this aspect of the languages and engages students, during the lesson, with questions pertaining to the lessons.
