Speak more, listen more, ask more is the basic to study any language. Chinese has its unique spelling, writing...and all come from the ancient Chinese culture. For example, ºÃ means good in English, but how to understand what it means it Chinese and how to pronouce it? From two ways:
1. "HAO" is the pronunciation of ºÃ¡£
2. In the old days, what is good stand for a family? It would be having a son and a daughter stand for the meaning of good.
More examples can be examplained. Learning Chinese is not only helping you to improve your own ability, but also to study another country's culture. |

My teaching approach focuses on helping students use Cantonese in real-life situations as early as possible. Instead of relying on memorisation, I guide students to understand patterns, practise speaking, and build confidence step by step.
I break the language into small, manageable parts—startin g with pronunciation and tones, then moving into simple sentence structures that can be immediately applied in daily conversations . I use Jyutping (romanisation ) and clear English explanations to support learners who cannot read Chinese, making the language more accessible from the beginning.
What makes my lessons unique is that they are highly personalised and practical. I design content based on each student’s goals, such as communicating with a partner’s family, handling daily situations, or understanding cultural context. I also incorporate role-play, repetition, and real-life scenarios to reinforce learning in a natural way.
