My first step is to evaluate the needs of the student: grammar, comprehension , pronunciation and target use of English. I often devise roleplays for students based on their interests and personality. When it comes to group lessons I encourage all participants to make a hot topic list and send them to me before the first lesson. I then share this information with all participants. I also include TED Talks, News websites, Youtube clips, TV series and encourage students to contribute their own tastes of all of the above. On one occasion a student presented a drone recording of their own neighborhood. My classes are fun, dynamic and the students will see immediate results and gain confidence. |
