I always start a lesson with revision. As a warm-up we practice some phonetics. We have speaking,read ing, grammar and vocabular practice. In pairs, students make dialogues or we play games. I also show some Russian cartoons (with Eng subtitles for beginners) to train listening skills, if the students are at least intermediate, we also listen to songs.
As for writing, students practice it at home and bring me a paper to check.

I'm good in writing and translation as I have worked much in these spheres as a reporter, translator and editor for local newspapers and Students' youth newspaper. So I'd pay more attention to academic writing which is the hard work indeed. Dictations and free conversations on current cultural, political events from newspapers, situation roleplay, reading of Russian classics will enhance my students to understand and communicate freely.
