Firstly, I am a Native Englishman from London. Now in my 50s and well qualified in Business studies and English with a diploma in English business studies. So I really do know my English. I understand the problems associated with learning English especially in the areas of pronunciation and spoken word. Next, My wife is also English and a teacher which means between us we can help all ages and levels. We also have our classroom where we prefer to work if possible as we have teaching aids there to make the learning more fun. |

I make sure I tailor my approach to the needs of the student, whether that be grammar, written or oral skills (or, indeed, all of the above).
I try to get to know the student's interests and aptitudes in order to find what the right approach is. Some people prefer a more traditional approach taht focuses on grammar and its application, others like to approach a language more playfully, want to get a feel for everyday culture and want their language skills to reflect that (by using idiomatic and colloquial language and approaching certain linguistic topics through social and cultural issues - including pop culture). I can cater for both. |
