For novice, I would teach in english in order to make sure the student establish firm and solid foundation of phonetics and grammar, recognizing basic and simple daily chinese words and pronunciation .
For advance and intermediate student, the lesson would mainly focus on communication skill, mainly focus on speaking and listening, strengthen pronunciation and fluency. |

Chinese is not hard if you know why you study Chinese or your motivation. What I teach student is more about how to learn by themselves in a proper way.Ruin their fear of learning Chinese, develop their interest of themselves study. I do listen to their pronuncation word by word, sentence by sentence and then help students doing repeat practice and following exercises.

First, learning a language can be a lof of fun. It's more than reciting some wierd words or grammars. It all comes from communication . That's where you learn "real" language, rather than the textbook language.
Second, learning about its culture helps you better understand the way how local people talk and live. Telling you to bring your own tissue to bathrooms in China is more practical to inform you the usage of "ºÍ"(and).
Tapping into my own experience of learning English as a second language in the US, I am sure I can help you learn Chinese and Chinese in a much simpler way. |
