Teaching approach:	Over the years, I have found flexibility is the key when it comes to teaching. Every student is unique, and what works with one might not work with another. As such, my lessons are tailored and personalised. I carry out an initial needs assessment, quickly identifying student strengths and areas for development and then develop a targeted plan of action around this. I see teaching as a craft and a good craftsperson will keep abreast of the latest tools and techniques and choose different tools for different types of tasks, adapting to student needs and learning styles. My academic background in psychology and philosophy gives me a good grounding in the psychological dynamics of the learning process, as well as in logic and critical thinking. I work on developing the student's autonomy and self-efficacy as a learner as well as clarity in thought and expression.
