In the teaching process, I rely on the knowledge about languages and the world that the student already possesses – we try to make Polish just another way of describing the world, not a new system that overturns everything known upside down. I enjoy delving into the intricacies of other languages and I am happy to look for differences and similarities between them to support the student as much as possible.
I divide each planned course into mini-blocks, so the student has control over their progress – they see what they have learned in the set time, which helps them build new knowledge on what has been previously acquired.
The Polish language courses are conducted in Polish, but we always keep English on standby to avoid unnecessary stress and pressure associated with learning – by the principle that a stressed and frustrated student is a student blocked from acquiring knowledge. |
