I believe that in a language class all students need to feel that they can ask questions and be curious about material without fear of embarassment or dismissal. I try to encourage a kind of atmosphere where students feel free to ask questions and express what they have gained during the lessons. A good example for this would be my adopting an inductive teaching method for grammar subjects as my preferred way of enabling the student interaction in the classroom.
Regarding other aspects of my approach to students, I believe in maintaining and garnering their respect by treating them with respect, and having high expectations regarding their behavior and performance.
I try to stimulate students’ interest by showing my own enthusiasm for the subject. A good example for this would be my working experience as lecturer of Italian language at a university. I believe that the best results in teaching are achieved when the class is interesting so I include funny games mixed with the grammar exercise.
