I am a retired arts administrator (director emeritus of an 1,800-seat university auditorium, who booked concerts, plays, opera, ballet, jazz, & attractions). My university degrees are in Slavic Languages & Literatures; my specialty was Russian and I have a good command of it. I also know Czech, French, and German -- but am 'rusty'). I've visited Budapest three times and plan to visit it again in April 2023. I'd like to learn as much Hungarian as I can so as to 'get by'. Mastering the language so I might read Krasnahorkai will take far more time than I have! I'm a native speaker of American English. I like all the performing arts -- classical music, opera, ballet, theatre especially, but also blues and jazz. I hope to see 'István, a király' when I'm in Budapest.

Hi, I'm Skyler. I'm 18 and I have friends, literally all over the world, but I've always dreamed or learning Japanese. I do know some of the basics, like Hiragana and basic greetings and such but otherwise, I'm lost. I do like anime and that's really only just 0.1% of the reason I want to learn Japanese. I'm normally up really late despite living in America so you'll probably catch me if I'm up despite the time difference. I'm artistic, inquisitive, and I live in the moment while still looking to the future. So that's me.

你好! 我的名字恩典。我是大学生学习中文 。 I am actually pretty terrible at Chinese, which is why I'm here. This is my first semester taking another language and I'm determined to get into Chinese 102 next semester. I'm a native English speaker living in America and I love grammar, so I'd be happy to help anyone in return with English!

My younger sister got me hooked on Kdramas. It's so bad that I don't go a day without at least watching an episode in a series. I would absolutely love to learn Korean, so one day I can watch the episodes without the subtitles on. But most importantly, one day down the line, when I save enough money, I would absolutely love to go down and see South Korea in person and experience the culture first hand.
