I have studied French off and on for twenty years, which allows me to read adult-level books--ebooks are best for vocabulary lookup. My oral skill is limited to transactional French for asking where are things in a store or places in a city or giving instructions to a taxi driver or ordering a meal. I am a retired English professor and would like to learn to chat in French. I also need to sharpen my oral understanding. For that I am currently listening to Le Dessous des Cartes. Sometimes I can get along without captions, but not often. I seem to miss verbs more than nouns and their modifiers. I am pretty at ease with all sorts of people, young and old.

I am doing an internship and moved to Maple Grove. Therefore I would like to improve my English while staying here and get to know people. I would prefer to meet in person as I don't like talking on the phone. I like to travel, read and go to the gym and I am originally from Germany so I am happy to teach someone.

English is not my first language and even though I live in the US I do not have to talk much in English, so I need to practice ... a lot! I can help someone else to practice Spanish in exchange.
