I enjoy learning and understanding many cultures around the globe. I have decided to pick up where I left off learning I chose Spanish at this time because it’s somewhat familiar, although I’m still quite a novice although I shouldn’t be. Had I kept up with speaking the language I would be fluent by now. I’m very happy to have discovered this exchange program.
Other reasons for Spanish include, future plans to move to Spain for a few years. Traveling all around around Europe and wherever else opportunity becomes available. Learning the language of any country we reside or visit opens a completely new experience. People open up and learning the culture becomes exponentially more authentic. Deepening the understanding of the culture. Seeing places off the beaten track only the locals know about.
As for me. I’m a new transplant from San Diego, CA. Maybe 8 months now. Still adjusting to my new home. I adore the West Coast from the Pacific to the Rockies. East of the Rockies has a very different climate, vastly different cultures, and creatures 🐊😳. I will probably end up back there somewhere, someday. After 23 years it was time for a change and I sure got one.
I’m also an RN currently taking a break from Acute care to learn holistic nursing skills with a focus on alternative and functional/integ rative medicine.
Health is very important to me. I want to help people get well and learn how to maintain wellness.
Traveling and being immersed in different cultures is a passion. Since I’m new to FL I’m very interested in exploring this state. We can be a tourist anywhere. It’s also a great advantage to blend a bit, especially in other countries. Learning their language is important to gets an inclusive understanding of the people and their culture, their home.
I enjoy the arts, museums, galleries, theater. If not found here I’m certain Florida has all these things. Perhaps not Lincoln Center, the Royal Opera House or the Met or Getty found in big cities . Wonderful talent and beauty can be found in the place we least expect. If we are able to keep our minds, eyes and ears open, talent and beauty can be found everywhere.
I enjoy most water sports, skiing , bouldering, hiking, biking, tennis , pickle ball. Love reading, going to farmers markets not only for produce, it’s fun to make a day of it. Listening to live music, other entertainment, foods from local restaurants, local artist tables and tents. Exploring places to eat and be merry. I like taking tourist trolleys through places like St Augustine of course going freestyle is just as important. So many ways to see a place.
I enjoy all sorts of locally offered short classes such as cooking cooking, art gardening, etc.
All of these things vary from place to place. Exploring florida and pursuing further education, career development, personal development to include becoming fluent in Spanish and maybe Portuguese.while I’m here will keep me busy.🤓. All the other things are a bonus😎. It’s a huge diverse state! I think 🧐😁
I’m looking forward to speaking Spanish little by little. It’s a good time in life for learning new tricks 😉
