A language exchange with a pen pal from Kenora is an excellent way to make a friend from Kenora, learn about its culture and improve
your foreign language skills.
This type of exchange is suitable for language learners of all skill levels, even beginners.
Because you have a common goal to help each other learn while discussing common interests,
you are likely to make meaningful friendships.
Compared to live conversation, there is less pressure, because you can take your time to use a dictionary or refer to your lessons at a time of your convenience.
It is also a great way to improve your writing, reading and grammar skills.

I am a woman in my 70s who lives alone in Canada. I became interested in learning Welsh because a close girlfriend here is a fluent North Welsh speaker from around Bangor and I have been to Wales with her several times and alone two years ago. I also have a cluster of other Welsh speaking friends here in Winnipeg and also in Wales, but they don't have time, and find it too tiresome to speak with a learner which never helps me get fluent.
In 2019 I was at a Welsh (casual) bootcamp with Say Something in Welsh, for five days in Caernarfon and by the end of the week I was able to survive in Welsh--even when shopping on my own!
I have been learning with Say Something in Welsh North, and Duo Lingo both for several years but without practice I forget too much and never get comfortable with it in my mouth--get stage fright when I try.
I currently have a tutor who is taking me through the North Welsh of Dysgu Cymraeg Mynediad, and have the big manual, and practice online. (I always seem to be starting all over again yet never getting anywhere!) But he's always too busy for me--when he speaks he does it too quickly for me to understand and I don't have the money to spend on a private tutor at the moment, so I am wondering if speaking with someone who is learning but had a handle on the language might be a better way to go.
I never really get a chance for real dialogue much--in spite of my Welsh friends--to hear it and understand and reply on the fly. So I'm hoping to find someone here who is learning NORTH Welsh to converse with and help me get better actually using it and suddenly surprise my friends with a proper Welsh conversation one day!
Other interests are playing the harp, I have a degree in fine art, Still love to dance--Sacred Circle dance. I'm a retired nurse practitioner. A widow with no children.

Hi, I'm Rhia =). I'm a 25 yr old Canadian woman.
I like shopping, fashion, music, baking, taking photos, exploring, watching movies, writing letters and animals. I would love to visit Tokyo.
I'd like to become good friends with people who can teach me Japanese through e-mail, letters or Skype, and maybe meet in Tokyo! If you'd like to learn English or learn about Canadian culture I would be happy to teach you =) I love mailing packages and letters!

I am a Kindergarten teacher and am planning on taking an Additional Qualification course in French as a Second Language. I did French Immersion from grades 5-9, but I haven't used my skills in a long time, so I need to practice!
